THE FACE OF CFA
Trust a published paleontologist to identify your fossil treasures!
Ashby Gale is founder and primary tour guide for Charleston Fossil Adventures, LLC. After attaining a degree in Environmental Science in 2013, Ashby fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a paleontologist by moving to Edisto Beach and becoming the Interpretive Ranger for the State Park, working closely with the Ice Age fossils found along Edisto's shores.
After seeing the need for a more family-friendly fossil hunting experience in the Lowcountry, Ashby founded CFA to fill the niche. Recognizing the limitations of children and seniors, CFA allows individuals of all ages to participate in fossil hunting adventures.
Ashby works with his guests to make sure they understand the driving principles depositing and sorting fossils on our shores, so they can fill their pockets with fossils on every outing!
Ashby is currently the president of the Palmetto Paleontological Society.

"I've collected fossils for years, but have been unable to identify a big majority of them - that was, until I met Ashby. He has gone out of his way to help me learn traits of fossils. His knowledge blows me away!"
"Our family is hooked on shark tooth hunting!! We went on the Folly Beach Adventure and learned about the formation of the unique fossils on the coast, and how to identify ALL of the shark teeth and amazing sea creatures. Ashby's passion and knowledge of fossils and the environment is contagious!"
