This sterling silver pendant makes a bold statement. The design borrows from both traditional Southwestern and Art Deco influences. It is set with a green/light brown turquoise cabochon and an easily-recognizable piece of fossilized turtle shell.
Turquoise gemstones, prized by many cultures around the world for their beauty, have been used in jewelry and artwork for thousands of years. Turquoise is also one the traditional birthstones for December. This one measures 17X10 mm.
The turtle shell came from an animal that lived between 11,000 to 2.6 million years ago. It was found in the Charleston area by a CFA staff member.
Be a hare and not a turtle on this one … don’t be too slow to decide because this one is going to go fast!
