This sterling silver ring features a scalloped bezel-set shard of fossilized ivory tusk. The face and wide ring band are stamped with a pattern reminiscent of a starry night. The ring is a size 7.75.
This ivory is from one of the Ice Age mammoths, mastodons or four-tusked elephants that roamed under the stars in the Charleston area around 11,000 to 2.6 million years ago. The Columbian mammoth is South Carolina’s state fossil.
The ivory has been naturally polished to a deep, wet shine over time by the action of sand and the waves. It was collected by a CFA member from one of the area’s beautiful beaches.
Let this starry night shine brightly in your personal collection!
