Be large and in charge with this bold sterling silver and fossilized ivory pendant, weighing in at over an ounce!
The inspiration for the design came from both the Art Deco period and the awesome animals that were the precursors to modern-day elephants.
These ivory pieces are from the some of the Ice Age mammoths, mastodons or four-tusked elephants that lived in this area 11,000 to 2.6 million years ago. The Columbian mammoth is South Carolina’s state fossil.
Fossil ivory takes a sharp eye to spot. It’s also a little bit less common to find. These pieces were collected by a CFA staff member on one of our lovely Charleston-area beaches.
These ivory pieces are rich dark chocolate brown in color. The pendant’s reverse features a satin-brushed textured finish.
STERLING SILVER. FOSSIL IVORY.
DIMENSIONS: 150X32 mm (5.9X1.3 in.)
NOTE: State laws prohibit the purchase of fossilized ivory if you live in California, New York, or New Jersey. For this reason, we cannot ship any item containing fossilized ivory to these states.
